Lady Mayors Livery Banquet

The 'highlight' of the Livery Year is the Lady Mayor's Livery Banquet at Mansion House. The great and the good turn out with fine pomp, ceremony and heraldry. The City at its best. The Lady Mayor gave an impassioned speech about the importance of the Livery in the life of the City and its people. Indeed she hails from the East End and is now a Pearly Queen. Speeches by the Masters of the Grocers and Mercers left many of the audience mystified as they contained linked references to Wind in the Willows. Ho hum
