Basketry Showcase

4th March 2026

The Dutch Church, Austin Friars

The Prime Warden and Court of the Worshipful Company of Basket Makers kindly invited Maggie and I to their Basketry Showcase at the Dutch Church, Austin Friars.

A wonderful venue hosting a fascinating display of basketry in all its forms. Talented growers and makers from around the country demonstrated their wares for show and sale. Extraordinary how many different materials can be used, from traditional willow up to climbing rope, all put to good purpose.

As the Caterers did not pitch up, the resouceful Basket Makers raided Waitrose and M&S to ensure the opening reception was fun and successful. Bravo!
