16 350th Anniversary of the Granting of Two Royal Charters
16th July 2014Evensong was celebrated in St Paul's Cathedral to celebrate the 350th Anniversary of the granting of Royal Charters to the Worshipful Companies of Needlemakers and of Glass Sellers of London. The Lord Mayor and the Sheriffs were present. In his Bidding,the Dean, David Ison, welcomed the Civic City, the Masters, Prime Wardens and Upper Bailiff and added " and those who haven't a clue as to what is going on"!
An inspiring service, as ever, at St Paul's.
We walked to Guildhall Yard for the Beating of Retreat by the Band of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment followed by a Reception in the Old Library in Guildhall.
