Flag Raising Ceremony

After cutting short lunch at the Stationers', unfortunately having to miss out on dessert to get back to Guildhall Yard on time, we watched the Raising the Flag ceremony on a roasting afternoon! (Fortunately water was on offer to prevent any dehydration.)
The band of the Irish Guards played music to their usual fine standard before the ceremony and speeches by the Lord Mayor and others.
We adjourned to the Guldhall for a reception and very welcome cold drinks and tea, and had the opportunity to meet some of the military participants in the ceremony.
A great way of showing the City's appreciation of the armed forces.
