27 Concert at the Barbican
26th September 2014As guests of the Principal of the Guildhall School of Music and Dance, Professor Barry Ife, the Senior Warden and I attended a performance of Verdi's Requiem by the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in the Barbican Hall. It is a tradition to bring together new undergraduates and postgraduates at the beginning of a new academic year to learn a major choral work in under two weeks. A great ice-breaker and an opportunity for students to get to know each other. A magnificent performance, with four Guildhall alumni as soloists.
The Company has given support to the Guildhall School for many years through our Benevolent Fund and it is uplifting to see and hear the fantastic talent which is developing through our support and that of others.
