The Masters Reception

29th April 2026

Sergeants Mess, Royal Irish Guards, Wellington Barracks

We were honoured to be able to use the Sergeants' Mess, Wellington Barracks, for our Master's Reception.

It was a wonderful evening hosted by the Irish Guards; we were able to raise much-needed funds for the Irish Guards Charity.

We enjoyed a fine Guards cold buffet, excellent wine and Guinness at less than £3 a pint.

We held a raffle with prizes donated by our Clerk, Almoner, our guest Chelsea Pensioner, the Consort and the Master

Liveryman Judith Donovan donated a wonderfully generous prize for auction. A tour of and lunch for 4 at the Reform Club. After a fierce battle, Assistants Rae Maile, his wife Kathryn Maile and Jon Fell split the prize and raised £1,000. They will enjoy a great lunch with Judith.

Thanks to Maggie Scanlan, Consort and Assistant Sue Curran for getting everyone to dig deep to buy raffle tickets; the raffle raised £630. The ticket cost also raised a small donation to the Charity too.

There were also two donations overnight from members who wish to remain anonymous.

WE RAISED IN TOTAL ££2,503.36 ! A fabulous effort, much appreciated by the Irish Guards Charity, which works hard to assist its ex-servicemen and women.
