Flag Raising Ceremony at the Guildhall
24th June 2024After cutting short lunch at the Stationer's, unfortunately having to miss out on dessert to get back to the Guildhall Yard on time, we watched the Raising the Flag ceremony on a roasting afternoon! (Fortunately water was on offer to prevent any dehydration)
The band of the Irish Guards played some music to their usual fine standard before the flag ceremony and speeches by the Lord Mayor and others.
After this we adjourned to the Guldhall for a reception and very welcome cold drinks and tea, and had the opportunity of meeting some of the military participants in the ceremony.
A great way of showing the City's appreciation of the armed forces.
